Project description
Project: Brine capacity expansion
Client: Dairy Company
Location: The Netherlands
Flexibility is a top priority in this cheese factory. The expansion of the brine capacity with 12 brine baths and 6 storage tanks with different types of brine ensures a unique applicability in which a great diversity of cheese with an associated brine type can be produced.
A good process design is extremely important in the realization of this type of project, which is why we started the technical design in the fall. This starts at Lascon by drawing the process on P&ID, followed by the detailed engineering by our process engineers, after which our 3D designer was able to fully visualize the process in a 3D model.
The added value of the 3D model results in being able to guarantee an efficient project realization. Thanks to the 3D model, it was possible to prefab all the necessary process parts in the workplace prior to assembly on location. This resulted in speeding up the construction phase in the factory, as the prefab parts could be installed quickly and on time.
The total project consisted of, among other things, the design of P&IDs, the visualization of the 3D model and the connection of tanks, brine baths, heat exchangers, filter systems and the salt solution system developed by Lascon. The aforementioned process components are all connected to each other by means of 1750 meters of stainless steel piping and over 450 built-in equipment.
The project was completed just before the summer and the installation is now running at full speed. During the realization of this project, we were able to fully unburden the client, with whom Lascon has a long-term collaboration. We did this by supplying a complete package from process engineering to 3D design and from project supervision to implementation.
